Teaching Kids to Make Money at an Early Age
64School is done and summertime is here so it's time to sit back and relax. Most kids want to just have fun and not even think about work. Summer is actually the best time to put kids to work, for a good cause of course. For kids ages 14 and up have the Summer Youth Program, so where does that leave the kids younger than that?
With the help of us parents, we could help solve that problem all while still enjoying the fun days of summer. Imagine being in the park making money while having fun. It sounds like a dream job for kids and it's the perfect opportunity to show how kids can earn money at an early age. In my previous hub, I've showed people how to earn more money by selling water at a flea market. Kids can do the same, but instead of selling water, they can sell kid drinks as well. Take the time to go the supermarket with your kids on a Friday evening and do a little food shopping. Like my other hub, make sure that the water is on sale for like $2.99-$3.99. Also, get some drinks called Kool-Aid Burst. They are in a six pack and when on sale, they would cost a measly buck. By at least 2-3 packs of those for a total of 18 drinks. Get some ice and you're good to go.
For something extra, you could by some Pillsbury Cookies. It can be anything from Sugar Cookies to Chocolate Chip. Again, make sure that it's on sale for like $2.99. If you want to make it easier, you could always buy Chips Ahoy or Oreos. Again, on sale for $2.99. You want to make the Kool-Aid drinks at $.50 and make the cookies either 3 for $.50 or 3 for $1.00. Parents can never say no to a thirsty and hungry child.
When you go home, have a little moment with your child help them make the cookies should you choose to go that route. It's moments like these that children will never forget.
Saturday comes and the kids are out in the park playing. Now it's time to take advantage. Make sure that you have a folding table and head on over to the park with the cookies and drinks. Once you're there, help them set everything up and let them do rest. It may come natural, you may have to help them some more but the kids will learn the value of something earlier than other kids. So not only will you teach them the value of a dollar and good ways to make money, but you'll be spending some quality time with them as well and when they want to take a break, they can always walk on over to their friends. Get them involved as well, make it a mini-company. You will also be teaching your child as to what is an entrepreneur. Now you can really enjoy the summer time with money in your pocket.

Hey triplehsd, this is such a simple and fun way to get kids and parents involved in something! Plus it will give them a huge boost of confidence early on. Great post!
